Perenco established operations in Egypt in October 2004 with the acquisition of a 50% interest in the Offshore North Sinai (ONS) undeveloped gas assets. Perenco is the Operator and holds now 100% of the ONS Contractor Group interest.
ONS includes Tao, Kamose and Seti Plio fields, as well as several prospects located in the Mediterranean Sea.

Tao field development is ongoing and the Joint Venture is targetting gas deliveries early 2008 with production rates up to 180 mmscfd. The development is carried out through the Operating company North Sinai Petroleum Company (NOSPCO) – a joint venture between Perenco and EGPC.
Through its Joint Venture with RWE Dea, Perenco holds a working interest of 30% in the non-operated asset of North Idku. RWE Dea is preparing the development of the North Idku offshore Mediterranean gas field for delivery in 2010 with a DCQ of 120 mmscfd.
