The first objective of exploration activity, growing the company, is tackled through new venture exploration and targets prospects with potential for material reserves. Such opportunities are generally in new plays or extensions to existing plays which may challenge previously held models and can consequently have higher risk.
This requires a fundamental understanding of the hydrocarbon system, from basin formation and architecture through the development of the play elements of source, reservoir and seal to the ultimate maturation, migration and entrapment of hydrocarbons. This activity is undertaken in some of those countries where we produce, and is the primary focus of the technical studies undertaken for new countries that we enter.
Exploration

The second objective of exploration is maximising the value of existing assets. This requires focus on both the technical and commercial drivers in any producing asset. While this activity delivers smaller discoveries, these reserves are often high value due to the proximity of infrastructure and short time between discovery and production and these type of exploration prospects tend to have a lower risk.

The operated exploration portfolio and new venture activities requires the skills of dynamic and creative individuals who make up the Perenco Exploration Team. We welcome talented individuals
to apply.
