Colombia is an example of where Perenco undertake both strands of the Exploration strategy with activity focussed on growing the company through material discoveries and to maximising
the value of existing assets.
Perenco operates producing fields, some of which have satellite exploration opportunities. Eleven exploration wells have targeted these satellite structures, which are very high value due to
the proximity of the infrastructure and the short time frame to bring discoveries onto production.
A combination of both development and exploration 3D seismic is expected to continue to offer additional exploration opportunities.

Perenco has also been aggressive in new venture exploration, and have successfully accessed the Saman license in the onshore Lower Magdalena basin with Hocol, who operate the license.
A 160km 2D seismic programme acquired in 2007 has identified a number of potential targets, and
a 270 sq.km 3D programme is currently being acquired to firm up drilling locations. Exploration wells
on the Saman license are planned for 2009.
Perenco have qualified for the ANH Heavy Oil Round, and will participate in the evaluation
of the upcoming tender, and we continue to review all available production, development and exploration opportunities offered to the Industry.
