Perenco’s acquisition in 2003 of assets in the Southern North Sea resulted in the company’s largest gas operation to date. In 2007, the company completed the purchase of a complimentary set
of producing assets.

As a consequence, Exploration in the Southern North Sea has focussed on targets that have
the potential to be quickly tied-in to Perenco-operated infrastructure.

These opportunities are small reserve and low risk, and are developed in combination with
the development plan on the producing fields to optimise the efficient use of the infrastructure.
Perenco drilled 3 such prospects in 2007, all of which were sub-commercial discoveries.

Perenco has also entered the Central North Sea to expose the company to the larger targets offered by that basin.
Block 21/30s was acquired in 2007, and the Spitfire prospect will be drilled in the 2nd quarter of 2008. This prospect targets a stratigraphic trap in the Eocene, Tay Formation sands.

Perenco continues to look for additional material exploration opportunities in the UKCS.
