The Pedernales Field is located on the northern margin of the Orinoco Delta.
The surrounding environment is a combination of tidal channels and mangrove, with water depth between 3 and 10 meters. The installation comprises floating and fixed platforms with 26 active wells. It currently produces 5,000 bopd.

The Ambrosio field in Lake Maracaibo has been operated by Perenco since June 2001.
In September 2002, Perenco acquired non-operated interest in the Colon Operating Service Agreement. With 59 active wells, the site’s current production is 11,000 bpd.
Neighbouring communities of indigenous Warao people now benefit from refrigeration and telecommunications made possible by electricity generated at the Pedernales field. The company assists health care professionals in providing services to the local population.
