Milestone in Emeraude Pilot project    

The Float-Off operation of the MOAB platform has occurred on Saturday, 28th of February 2009 in Matombi Bay, offshore Congo This 4000T heavy, mobile, floating, self-installing platform has been built in Moroccan shipyard of Jorf Lasfar and has been transported on a semi submersible barge to Congo to be installed on Emeraude Field.

After nearly two years of efforts, and as per planning, this operation is an outstanding technical achievement for Perenco. This new unit is part of a pilot project that will allow the Emeraude field to be produced in new areas, as well as steam to be injected into the reservoir as tertiary recovery mean. The jacking on final location has been completed on March, 7th and the drilling campaign has already started.
