More than just a library    

The Perenco library in Muanda, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), has been designated an Arts' Centre.  The Perenco library, which was built in 2001, has over the years become an important part of the local community and today has 4,000 members. It will now broaden its role and will be also used for performing arts and exhibitions.  

This change was recently celebrated  during a ceremony in the Centre?s garden, which was hosted by the General Manager of Perenco DRC, Eric Iwochewitsch,  with some 200 guests in attendance. One of highlights of the ceremony, was a performance by "Les Bibliothécaires", the resident theatrical company of the Centre.
