On the 22nd September, the health Program carried out by Perenco's Hospital Barge, BAP Pastaza, received a CAREC 2010 Award for its contribution to community health. Carec is the Training Resources Administration Committee, part of the Peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mines.
BAP Pastaza, which operates in the basins of the Napo, Curaray and Arabela Rivers, was developed by Perenco, in coordination with the Peruvian Navy and the Loreto Regional Government, through the Loreto Regional Health Bureau's, Health Plan.
The award ceremony, organised by CAREC, gathered recognised companies from the hydrocarbons sector, which competed through the presentation of their respective social responsibility programs.
Engineer José Antonio Mansen, QHSE-CR Manager of Perenco, gave a presentation and received the award on behalf of the Company, from Isabel Tafur, CAREC's Executive Secretary.
Jose remarked: "Without a doubt, we are very proud of the success achieved with this program; this award highlights the importance of offering quality health services to a large number of Peruvian citizens, reinforcing and contributing towards existing health services, and providing preventive health education."
