Perenco established operations in Egypt in October 2004 with the acquisition of a 50% interest in the Offshore North Sinai (ONS) undeveloped gas assets.

Perenco is the Operator and now holds 100% of the ONS Contractor Group interest.

ONS includes the Tao, Kamose and Seti Plio fields, as well as several prospects located in the Mediterranean.

Tao field reached the forecast steady plateau of 180 mmscfd in April 2009. The development was carried out through operating company North Sinai Petroleum Company (NOSPCO), a joint-venture between Perenco and EGPC.
