Welland Field Decommissioning

The Welland Field is a small gas field in straddling blocks 53/4am, 49/28a and 49/29b of the United Kingdom Continental Shelf (UKCS), approximately 72km east of the Norfolk Coast and 26km from the UK/Netherlands median line.

The field was transferred to Perenco UK in 2007 as part of a wider asset purchase. It had ceased production in 2003 and is scheduled to be decommissioned in 2010/2011. Consequently, Perenco UK as the operator and joint owner of the field have developed a proposal to decommission the field. To this end a Decommissioning Programme has been developed as required by the Petroleum Act 1998 and in accordance with DECC guidelines.

The document sets out the Decommissioning Programme for the installation and pipelines in the Welland Field and is the consultation draft for consideration by DECC, other interested parties and the public.
