Perenco is involved into various healthcare access programmes, targeting local communities in the countries where the company operates. Perenco also helps by training medical teams and improving local medical infrastructures.

Prioritising Access to Healthcare for Vulnerable Populations

In Congo, since 2011, Perenco has committed to improving the quality of healthcare through medical staff training measures. 320 healthcare professionals have already benefited from this programme delivered by Pointe-Noire hospital.

At the same time, in association with the European Institute for Cooperation and Development (IECD), Perenco has supported the creation of health centres through the PASS Project (Programme of Support for Healthcare Structures).

This programme has already permitted to open seven centres for an estimated 200,000 people. The objective is to facilitate access to healthcare for vulnerable populations and to reduce infant mortality locally by 20%.

"Eyes with the Heart" or Ocular Health for All

In Colombia Perenco is leading an ocular healthcare programme, "Eyes with the Heart", which provides access to an optometry service with free glasses for the inhabitants of the most remote Casanare communities. More than 400 people from 15 rural districts have already benefited from this operation.
